Every year we support a local charity close to our hearts, carefully selected by our team.
This year, we are supporting Chris and Simon Knowles in raising money for their chosen charities, who will be cycling from John O Groats to Lands End in memory of their late Father Robert Knowles.
Please help us in raising money for them this year
by donating- we will be running 'Charity Tuesday' every
2018 The Royal British Legion
The Green Waste Company staff chose The Royal British Legion as 2018 marks 100 years since WW1. The Royal British Legion provides lifelong support for the Armed Forces community - serving men and women, veterans, and their families.
They help members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, veterans and their families all year round. We also campaign to improve their lives, organise the Poppy Appeal and remember the fallen.
A handover of £858 was received by Annie Binding, RBL Poppy Appeal.
2017 CAAP- Childrens Activities Accessibility Program
CAAP was formed by a group of parents of children with additional needs, to support families to access activities during school holidays.
The criteria for CAAP are children and young people aged 0-25 years who have (or had) a statement to attend a mainstream school or go to a special school, ARB or PRU.
They seek grant funding to subsidise activities and these will be either just for the disabled child, for both the disabled child and their siblings or for the whole family to attend.
By donations for bags of compost The Green Waste Company raised in excess of £850, which was given in a formal handover where many of the children involved came to the site to receive the cheque.
2017 Mongol Derby
One of The Green Waste Companies directors- Paul Richards completed the 2017 Mongol Derby (Photo PR crossing the finish line on the left).
With The Green Waste Company being one of his main sponsors on his epic adventure, he amazingly raised in excess of £25,000 for the Children's Hospice.
The Mongol Derby is the longest and toughest horse race in the world.
The 1000km course recreates Chinggis Khaan's legendary empire-busting postal system. Riders change horses every 40km and stay with the local herders or camp under the stars.
Every year 40 professional, semi-professional and enthusiastic amateur riders compete for the derby crown.
To stand a chance of finishing riders must balance survival skills and horsemanship. They must endure the elements, semi-wild horses as well as unfamiliar food and terrain.
Completing the World's longest horse race is an achievement few can boast.
2016 Cornwall Air Ambulance
In 2016 The Green Waste Company raised over £800 for The Cornwall Air Ambulance.
It delivers fast and effective medical care to patients in their moment of need.
Cornwall Air Ambulance was the first service of its kind in the UK, and remains the busiest single helicopter air ambulance in the south west.
Anyone could need this service at any time. Whether local or visitor, young or old, Cornwall Air Ambulance is there free at the point of need.
